Governor Alia Visits Buruku as Part of "Thank You Tour"

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, continued his "Thank You Tour" with a visit to the Buruku federal constituency.
Addressing the community at Tombo Community Secondary School, Buruku, Governor Alia expressed his gratitude to the residents for their confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their support in electing him as Governor.
Governor Alia detailed his administration's achievements, including improvements in social welfare for civil servants and pensioners, significant road infrastructure projects, and other sector transformations. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Buruku bridge construction and pledged his government's support to expedite the project.
The Governor announced plans to commence construction on several roads:
1. Tyogbenda - Jingir - Uga road
2. Tyowanye - Tomanyiin - Anshav - Uga road
3. Mkovur - Anvambe - Tse-Adingi - Anshav road
Additional road projects are planned for the Mbagen axis of the constituency. He also promised to make three major appointments from the area and to construct a traditional hall for Ter Buruku.
Governor Alia urged traditional rulers to uphold their cultural mandates and commended the Buruku youth for their loyalty to him and the APC. He emphasized that he is the sole Governor of Benue State and cautioned the community against misleading influences.
Hon. Itiza Isaac Imojime, the Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Urban Development, praised the Governor for his commitment to Buruku, as reflected in the numerous appointments of local individuals. Other local leaders, including the caretaker chairman of Buruku Local Government and the Governor's advisor on Unions and Labour Matters, also expressed their gratitude and support for Governor Alia.
During the event, Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, Acting Chairman of APC in Benue State, welcomed over 3,000 defectors from the PDP and other parties to the APC
