 Benue State University Teaching Hospital to Host International Health Investment Summit & Scientific Exhibition and Launch Endowment Fund for Cancer Centre

Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) is set to host an International Health Investment Summit and Scientific Exhibition from July 18-19, 2024. The event, themed "Towards Attaining a One Stop Hospital," aims to facilitate the establishment of an ultra-modern cancer care centre at BSUTH through strategic collaborations and to explore sustainable health financing policies and options.

The summit will be inaugurated by the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia PhD, with Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, Chief Medical Director of BSUTH, serving as the host.

Keynote and guest speakers confirmed for the event include:

- Prof. Shima K. Gyoh, MON, Former Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health

- Mr. Eric Hangin Liu, Chairman, UNICURE Pharmaceuticals Company Ltd.

- Dr. Paul B. Orhi, OON, Former Director General, NAFDAC

- Dr. Samuel A. Otene, FNCR, Consultant Radiation & Clinical Oncologist

Alongside the summit sessions, a scientific exhibition will present the latest advancements in medical technology and healthcare solutions. Additionally, an endowment fund will be launched to support the creation of a state-of-the-art cancer centre at BSUTH.

"This summit is a major step towards our goal of transforming BSUTH into a comprehensive healthcare facility capable of addressing the diverse medical needs of the people of Benue State and beyond," said Dr. Hwande.
